Dear Friends,
For almost five years, I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of Denton as City Council member and Mayor Pro Tem. I have worked hard to earn your confidence by being committed solely to serving our community and its people. Now, I am asking for your support as I seek the at-large position of City Council Place 5.
During my time on Council, I have been a leader on the Council, in the region and throughout our State:
- I chair the Council Mobility Committee
- As a member of the Council Committee on Environment, I was instrumental in creating a new City environmental division
- On the Hotel Tax Committee, I have worked to distribute funds in a way that will benefit the whole community.
- As a member of the Board of the Regional Transportation Council, I am heavily involved in making crucial decisions on transportation and air quality for nine North Texas counties
- Board member, Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition—policy makers for Metroplex
- Executive Board member, Tex 21-Statewide transportation agency
- Member of State Legislative Committees for all three transportation entities
- Member of Regional Transit Initiative Committee—Transportation for North Texas
- Board Member of NASCO—Transportation Coalition for USA, Canada and Mexico
- Chair of Council Ethics Committee-adopted first Council Code of Ethics
- Member of City Audit Committee
In addition, I have continued to serve the Denton community by being active in Denton Benefit League, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Denton Main Street Association, Keep Denton Beautiful, North Texas Exes, Greater Denton Arts Council and other organizations. I am proud co-founder, Board Member, and Co-Chair of the Denton Animal Shelter Foundation. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army and a local Denton bank. I am a partner with my husband, David Gosdin, in Premier Sales Group, Inc. and am a member of First United Methodist Church of Denton.
As your City Council Place 5 representative, I will use this commitment and experience to continue to move Denton forward. I pledge to you that I will continue to promote the well being or our entire community by encouraging beneficial economic growth, while maintaining the unique character of our city and our neighborhoods. I look forward to my continued service of providing open-mindedness, honesty and integrity.
